Maude’s Mud Muster 2024
Once again, the Tasmanian Ceramics Association will be attending the historic town of Bothwell for what is now the fourth annual Maude’s Mud Muster.
This event was created by the TCA with the aim of bringing together ceramicists from across Tasmania to develop learning and networking opportunities throughout our ceramic’s community.
This year we have 31 Tasmanian artists gathering for this much anticipated weekend retreat which offers our members the rare opportunity of partaking in 2 full day workshops with two acclaimed visiting ceramic tutors – all set amid the stunning rural location of Ratho Farm.
This year the TCA has invited two first class tutors – Fleur Schell from WA and Minna Graham from Victoria. Both tutors are talented award-winning artists, with very different styles and are revered by the ceramic community.
Our hosts at Ratho Farm allow us the full use of the property for the weekend, with accommodation, meals and workshops being held on site and at the local Bothwell Town Hall.
This year the TCA applied, and was granted, an Arts Tasmania Artsbridge Grant to assist with the travel and workshop costs of bringing these two acclaimed Australian ceramicists to Tasmania.
Receiving this Grant from the Tasmanian Government has allowed the TCA to keep the overall costs down, equal with the 2023 Muster, permitting the TCA to absorb the workshop materials and equipment costs, Welcome pack and drinks, plus hire a more suitable external site for one of the workshops.
The Tasmanian Ceramics Association would like to thank the Tasmanian Government, Arts Tasmania – Artsbridge, for approving our grant application which has enabled us to keep the costs down for those attending this invaluable learning resource which can only further develop skills and generate new partnerships throughout the Tasmanian ceramic community.
